In July, we announced the launch of the StartHer Awards 2017, Europe’s largest competition for female-(co)founded startups. The international event will be held on October 19 at startup mega campus Station F (Paris), with the support of Mastercard, RCI Bank and Services, Datadog and Anaxago; and in partnership with Microsoft, Babbler, La FrenchTech, SXSW, Slush, Maddyness and more. For the first time, the competition will be preceded by an afternoon of themed workshops, open to the public, and organised by Mastercard, RCI Bank and Services, Datadog and Anaxago. The evening will then start with a surprise keynote and the pitch of the 10 finalists in front of the audience and the Jury, followed by cocktail during which the winner will be announced. Stay tuned for other surprises we’ll be announcing soon!

Today our team is also very happy to introduce the first three members of the Jury this year:

The StartHer Awards: a unique European event showcasing a selection of the best female-founded startups

As an extension of the successful Lady Pitch Night competition, which was held in Paris for the last five years, the StartHer Awards aim to highlight female entrepreneurship and encourage diversity in tech.

Past years’ winners include Findify (Sweden), Buzzdoes (Israel) and EasySize (Denmark). Other winning, startups have since come a long way: take Clustree for example, who raised rounds of 2.5m€ and 7m€, grown their team to 25 people, opened their product interface directly to clients’ employess, signed contracts with L’Oréal, Sanofi, Crédit Agricole and Carrefour, and won multiple awards.

Clustree’s founder, Bénédicte Raphélis de Soisson, fondly recalls her experience at the StartHer Awards: “We had started pitching not that long ago, and it was quite impressive to see that the room was packed with people who’d come to hear women pitch their startups—and there were many men in the audience as well.” Her most striking takeaway? “The fact that women everywhere in Europe are working on a great variety of projects. The vision of women’s entrepreneurship is changing. It’s important to give it visibility, and to show that it is possible.
